COLT OFFICERS MODEL MATCH

Need help on Date and Value of a Colt Officers Model Match. It's a 38 special, 6" Barrel and Full Size Wood Grips with Silver Medallions. The Serial Number inside the crane and on the frame says 902###. It has adjustible rear sights and big front sight with two pins through it. I think it's a 5th issue and worth about $375, maybe $400, he thinks it's older and wants $750 for it. Other than the obvious, how would you tell if it's a single action only gun? I didn't think the owner would have appreciated me dry double action firing is Old Colt in %98 condition.

    Google for a site called proofhouse.com they have a list of Colt serial numbers/DOM's.

    My Colt S/N book does not show an Officer Model Match in that number range

    1952 started at #65001. So '52 or '53 I'd say.
