Marlin 1894
I have a Marlin 1894 in 32 20. I was using it today and it quit firing. a couple of small pieces came out of the reiciever. One is a thin piece about an inch long and the other is a 1/4 " piece that looks like it may have broken off????
Any thoughts? Are they as easy as a Winchester to work on?

I have a marlin 1894 44mag it will not feed right the leaver will go back about 1/2 way and lock up. I replaced the loading gate and the mag tube flower. any help? 0 -
If it is still feeding and ejecting it is most likly the firing pin that broke. They are a two piece affair if you rifle is on of the recent ones. Brownells probably has a kit that will replace it and turn it into a one piece pin that will make the rifle smoother levering it .
To check make sure rifle is unloaded, find a small dowel that will slide down the barrel with no force, point the rifle up and press trigger and watch/listen if firing pin is stirking your dowel and making it jump up in the barrel.
If not then the firing pin is a good place to start.0 -
Just open the bolt and look and see if you still have a firing pin.
Of take the pivot screw for the lever out when the bolt is half way back and pull the bolt out and look.
I have two in 44+375 and pull the bolts to clean from the breach [;)]0
