Does anyone here know the max bullet weight for this pistol?

I know choices for many .380s are limited and I was curious as to the max bullet weight for this gun. I know someone who owns one and want to build some spare round for them.

    I've loaded 115 gr Hornady XTP rounds for this pistol.
    The 115 gr XTP bullet is really a bit long, making for a compressed load.
    Velocity was chronographed at 750fps.
    Spanish Santa Barbara 87gr Averaged 945 fps, the stiffest load tried
    out of my P3AT.

    I use DoubleTap 95 grain through mine for CCW use and of course practice with the same. These are loaded quite hot:

    I didn't want to put anything too big/heavy in that little gun.

    I was leaning into the 90/95gr range. I'm gonna do a mix of RN and HPs.


    dcs - How do those XTPs feed in the KelTec ?

    I might want to add, that the 90 grainer's are the most common weight in a 380, but a heavier bullet, even though slower, has its merrits.

    On a word of caution, be careful about loading your own ammunition for carry/personal protection. If it comes down to actually having to use it, it could create a vast amount of legal problems for one. In a civil suit, provided you make it thru a possible criminal suit, the perp's counsil, will most likely paint you as a blood thirsty villain, for rolling your own.

    I have a question on another forum about the Hornady XTPs in .45acp and several responses included such advise.

    I have been trying to buy reloading equipment for about ten years and somethings always sucked the money away.
    I have access to a reloading press now and the owner (a co-worker) has just about all the dies that I need for reloading.
    Through all of this time I have read all the gun magazines on the racks and read on a few forums about reloading.

    I understand the concerns of the subject.

    As I roughly stated in that other thread of mine.
    Forget the lawyers.
    It is my belief reloading is for more than plink, play and hunting.
    I had made up my mind many moons ago that I'd only reload to factory levels.
    Playing with anything more would unneccessarily wear out the tool being used.
    I have see this happening from someone that reloaded 'hot' for years.[xx(]
