    I have Zeiss Diavari, Schmidt and Binder PMM-II, and the NightForce NXS model scopes...actually one of each of the first two, and 3 of the latter. I have looked thru and used many other's, and I really like the NightForce the best.

    I like the fact that all of them(NightForce) are the same NXS 5.5-22x56, with the NP-R1 reticle, and zero stops. To use the reticle for ranging, at distance, it is done on the highest power. Unlike most mil-dot reticles, which is done at some lower power. In laymens terms...if I need to range the target, I need all of my magnification, not just part of it. The resolution of the reticle is 1MOA on the vertical scale, and 2MOA on the horizontal. Both turrets are 1/4 MOA, and a full revolution is 10 MOA. once you get used to a system, stick with it. I like the Ziess and S&B scopes, but most likely will get rid of them for more NXS scopes.

    question for ya'll,my cousin gave me a nightforce varminter 3.5x15x56 with lighted crosshairs. my question is how good is this scope & what are all the crosshairs,and lines with a circle underneath that goes from 800 to 300? thanks.

    NP-R1 reticle. Call Nightforce and get the manual, it will explain all the holdover points, or you may be able to print it from their websight.
