AR Buffer Assembly Information Request

..building an AR for my nephew. He came in with a 'Rock River' stripped lower/parts kit.

I've assembled it. Now the buffer..he wants the finished product to have the appearance of an M4.

What buffer, buffer tube, and recoil spring do y'all recommend for the installation of a skeleton stock? And what stock? (In NY, you can have a collapsible looking stock, but the stock collapsing feature must be disabled).

I'd like the tube and internals to be as close to the issue M4 as possible (the upper will be one of the 'M4' looking uppers, also).

Many leads on GB, but I need a helping hand in the selection process.

    Hi Joe,

    Nwcid has hit the nail squarely. You need a carbine buffer, buffer tube and spring. Don't forget to stake the castle nut.

    Tis a shame your nephew went to that trouble over a RRA. If he looks around he can find a pre-ban lower, that can have all the goodies on. I just got an early Eagle Arms carbine for $900.00, that looks like it wasn't even fired...untill I got it that is.
