early h@r stock
I am looking for one of the first 5000 stocks produced by h@r. It would have a small cross cannons marking, if some one knows were I should look please let me know. If someone has it put it on gunbroker with a buy it now and I will. I am putting togeather a very low number H@R. I want it to be perfect. It has just about everything already but I need the stock. Thanks

Were the crossed cannons unique to the early H & R M1 Rifle stocks? 0 -
I'm not familiar with crossed cannons on the HRA stock. Could you possibly need a stock without the DAS cartouche? It might help if you posted your serial number, as there are other characteristics of early stocks.

The crossed cannon Ordnance emblem was used at the start of HRA production up to serial number (approx.) 4,466,000 when it was superseded by the 3/8" DAS stamping. There is over lap between the two stamps since a few original HRA rifles in the 4,460,000 range have been observed with the small box stamp, but it is not known just how widely the 3/8" stamp was used in that range. 0 -

Yes, the first 5000 or so had the crossed cannons, then came the 3/8 size mark I have on my other M1's0 -
First block of s/n's for H&R started at 4,660,001. IH started at 4,400,001.
I have s/ns 4665704 and 4665705, both are DCM guns (before CMP) and both have the 3/8" DCS stamp.0 -

I have number 94. I have talked to the major writers of the books we all look at and the only thing I need is the stock with the crossed cannons. Thank you all for the intrest. John0
