Newbie Needs Help with Value on Rifle
I am new to this forum but not new to guns or hunting. I have inherited a rifle and would like some help coming up with a fair value for it if I decide to sell this. Here is as much information as I know and can proivde you so you can help me with this assessment.

Rifle is in pretty good shape with some light scratches on the stock but nothing major or deep. Most of the scratches are visible in the pictures I included.

Custom Rifles Just like custom Cars normally don't bring a price that is equal to the sum of their parts UNLESS they are put together by a Famous maker. Your rile most likely is a very good shooter but IMHO you will be hard pressed to get over $500.00 if that much. 0 -
I have to agree with perry shooter. That is a beautiful rifle you have, and has been put together with quality parts. That is a tiger striped Hard Maple stock, and they don't get much more beautiful than that, unless you get into the burlwood walnut.
To put that rifle together today, you would be looking at an honest $2K, but it still would be worth only a fraction of what you put into it. $500.00 would be near the high end, IMHO.

Thank you Perry Shooter and TSR1965. I kind of figured I might get this response. I don't think your input is wrong but I was hoping for a little more. Ideally, if I could get $750, I would be happy. I want to buy the new Browning X-Bolt Stainless in 7mm. I think maybe I should post this on Gun Broker's auction and maybe I can find that one person that just wants it for its quality and how beautiful it is. One of kind customs just need to find a one of a kind owner I guess. Thanks again. 0 -

The wood is referred to as Fiddleback Maple not tiger stripe.
On first sight, this appears to be a mighty fine rifle. However... Please accept my apologies if this seems harsh.
I will have to differ with the others in that this is an amateur attempt at stock making with a very nice piece if wood. Enlarge the photographs of the back (offhand) side of the rollover cheek piece and you'll see what I mean. Real stock makers and factories don't make this type of mistake.
The floor plate is aftermarket, made from a casting and sold to the general public as a way to dress up the old Mauser warhorses. They were not well done and actually detract from a fine Mauser.
The initials are a detraction also. These are a nice custom touch for the original owner but don't do anything for later resale.
The scope is bottom of the line placed in very cheap, often harmful scope rings. Some buyers will actually ask you to take the scope off in exchange for a price reduction.
The bolt handle is a replacement, not nearly as nice as it could be when made by a good gunsmith.
Here is an example of finely crafted rifle in a maple stock. Note the attention to detail and fit.

The rifle shown looks like a herters stock the roll over and black end cap were style then.what is on the butt pad,some collector intrest if herters.I have a 284win from that period looks like it.tks hedge[:D] 0
