Would like to know if the Whitworth rifles were ever made in 300H&H? I saw one on the internet but the barrel did not appear to be original. Thanks.

  The Whitworth express wasn't made in 300, but, it was made in 375. The action was built in Yugoslavia.

  I don't recall the Whitworth being chambered for the .300 H&H although as stated, it was chambered for the .375 H&H. These decisions are made for mass marketing not brilliant research. That's why we have an overabundance of .270 Win. and .30-06 Springfield in the world.
  
  Whitworth was branded but manufactured by Zastava as were the Remington 798, Interarms MkX and the Charles Daly rifles.
  
  These are excellent rifles for the most part, being based on the Mauser M98 pattern actions. If the price is right (based on condition) and the aftermarket barrel put on by someone with experience and care, it could be a worthwhile purchase.
