For a C&R class pistol. Is there any difference for shipping or transfer requirements?

Some states (CA for instance) won't recognize a C&R for the receipt of a pistol shipped into the state and it must be shipped to a dealer for transfer to the C&R holder. Otherwise the same shipping rules apply: Air shipping through UPS/FedEx. C&R holders are not by definition firearms dealers so they cannot mail handguns through the USPS. 0 -
Mark is correct, but I have (as a C&R holder) received handguns via USPS from C&R holders whose Post Office understood the regs to say an FFL holder could ship via USPS, and they recognized the C&R as an FFL. I asked my local post office where I have had a box for 20+ years, and they said, "Sure, no problem."
It is far better to download and read the regs than to ask the local clerk.

Unfotunately, the regs on mailing a handgun do not say "Licensee". They say "Dealer or manuacturer, in the ordinary course of business". Since my C&R license has big letters that tell me it is not a license to "engage in the business"- we are left out. USPS Domestic Mail Manual specifically says the PO staff are NOT permitted to give opinions on mailing firearms. The Form 1508 required for mailing handgun specifies Dealer- under penalty of perjury.
I will not mail a handgun, and do not reccomend ANY C&R FFL do so.0
