AR triggers?

in your guys opinions which BRAND of AR style rifles has the best trigger?and how does it compare with most stock bolt action rifle triggers? thanks

    Unless you buy one with an upgraded or match trigger they are all about the same.

    Well all AR's come with the SAME trigger unless you order one with a "aftermarket" trigger in them. If you get one with an aftermarket trigger then like any other aftermarket trigger you will get tons of opinions as to what is best.

    It is hard to compare them to bolt gun triggers as they feel much different because of the way they work internally. Stock AR triggers will usually be longer with more creep then a stock bolt gun trigger. There is no real way to truly adjust an AR trigger like there is on many bolt guns.

    Stock AR triggers are not nearly as crisp and short as a good bolt rifle trigger. I have Chip McCormick single stage "match" triggers in 2 of my AR's and love'em. Very easy to install, just remove the original pins, drop in the new self contained trigger unit and your ready.

    Rock River, and some others use a two stage trigger. IMHO, if you are used to a good bolt action trigger, the two stage trigger will be very difficult to get used to.
    I would just get the other features I liked and plan on replacing the trigger if you want something comparable to a bolt action trigger. I have JP and Jard triggers in ARs and they compare very favorably with good bolt triggers, but they do take some initial setup.

    I'm fairly sensitive when it comes to triggers and shoot mostly bolt action, but I have built a few ARs. I use them mostly for fun shooting and occasional 300 yds or so target shooting, the RRA 2 stage works fine for me. I think the CMMG is pretty good too. They're not Jewell or Rem 40X but it's OK.

    A monkey with a hammer can switch out AR triggers, I would say read and get what you like - I always use KNS oversized non-rotating pins too.

    Best AR trigger I ever pulled was a Geissle. Midway had them on sale last month for $170. Too bad I had other irons in the fire.....
