I actually just found an article that describes the differences. But is the older being stouter a bonus if you plan on using it with hunting ammo?
Is there more demand for the New or the old?
    Thanks

The (original, plain, old) Vaquero is built on the same frame as the .44 magnum and is to be preferred for things like overloading .45 Colt to magnum levels.
The New Vaquero is close to the size of the old model .357. If you want to shoot any reasonable .357 or .45s up to, say a 250 gr bullet at 1000 fps, it is fine.

If you want a pistol closer to the size and feel of a COLT SAA then go with the new model Vaquero.

If you want a 44mag handgun to take to Wyoming or Montana/Bear country, you want the old Vaquero. If you want the feel and balance of the old Colt SAA for period shooting you want the new Vaquero. I believe I have this right. [8D]

Is there more demand for the New or the old?It simply comes down to the need of the handgun. Hunting -> Older Model; Plinking/SAA -> Newer Model

    I'll shotgun this.

Collecting: Same demand. No collector value.

Non-collecting purchase: Same. Both readily available.

Value appreciation: Same. Both are new enough to place any valuation on the company name more than the particular model.

    Best, Joe

Also the old Vaquero came in 44mag, the new Vaquero is only available in 357 and 45Colt.

I presume that the New Vaquero cant handle any .45 Colt+P then?
