I have a Model 99 Savage, chambered in 303 Savage, serial number 999xx. can anyone tell me the date of manufacture , also does anyone know where to locate some parts? the lever is cracked and I would like to replace. Last thing .... Shells ? am I SOL? Thanks for any info.

I have a model 99eg with a six digit serial # starting with 71
I'm having trouble finding the year it was made.0 -
Try Numrich Arms for replacement parts, for DOM look on the leading edge of the lever boss (where the lever meets the receiver) and you should see a small circle with a letter inside. A is 1948, B is 1949 and so on. 0 -
It would be an 1899 and Date of manufacture is listed as 1910 on Savage99.com

Shells usually refers to shotgun shells. If you mean cartridges, they are readily available, if not at your local sources, then at places on line like Natchezz, Midway and many others. If you mean unfired brass, That too is readily available, just google .300 Savage brass.
The greatest number of 99s were produced in .300 Savage so it will be around a while.
My bad, .303 it is. That said I googled several sources of .303 Savage, so it is out there, but may be spendy.0 -
If you look on the auction side, there is plenty of ammo available for sale from other members. Just a thought....

He said it was a .303 Savage, not a .300.
Loaded .303 Savage ammo in my experience is hard to get and expensive, much more costly than similar rounds such as .300 Savage or .30-30.0 -
I have 2 boxes and have never had a rifle.
If shipping was not such a hassle, I would put it up for auction.
