The gas block assembly don't know the correct term) broke off the barrle of my wife shotgun while we were shooting clays this week end. The assebly broke into two pieces; the block itself and the retaining ring for the gas piston. Is this repairable and any idea of the cost? The shot gun is well used and maintained, probably has had 8,000 to 10,000 rounds through it.

Anything is "repairable", its just a question of cost.
It seems to me like a broken gas block on a semi-auto shotgun should be fixable without too much trouble.
Instead of speculating as to how much a repair might cost, why not contact Beretta for that information?

I don't think even they are going to be able to tell you the answer short of seeing the actual gun, but at least this way you can get the ball rolling.
If you call one of the support centers, you *MIGHT* be able to get a rough ballpark estimate of repair costs if you can correctly describe the problem and manage to speak to an actual gunsmith or knowledgeable repair person.

Thanks. I found out that the fore-end cap cap on the gun is spring loaded and serves to handle some of the fources that cycle the action. If the cap binds up you can break the gas block off the barrel. There's no mention of this in the manual. It's also a PITA to break down. This gun was used for sea duck hunting last winter. Cleaned the gun but only wiped down the cap, oiled the threads and put it back on the forearm. Needless to say when I checked the
gun last night the spring action portion of the cap was frozen solid.
Goes to the gunsmith today.0
