Vetterli?
Just acquired this rifle, not 100% certain what exactly it is...
I'm under the impression that it is a Vetterli rifle chambered in something around 41cal (10.4mm?)
its marked 1883, It also has the word Torino(inside of a circle) which im thinking is the manufacture.
The only other thing on the rifle is the serial # BI 7881
Thanks for the help.

And sorry for the broken links, If you click on them, they should work... 0 -
More particularly it is an Italian Vetterli-Vitali rifle, made in Torino. A google on the name will find a good deal of information. 0 -
It's a Model 1870/87 Vetterli-Vitali. Original Italian military cartridge used in it was the 10.47 X 47mm. The stock appears to have been refinished.
Many of these rifles were imported during the 50's/60's time frame. So many that some of them were converted into floor lamps, to make them salable.
Not likely to be a lot of collectors demand/value, with the refinished stock.0 -
