pre 1900 breech loading shotgun
I have inherited what is possibly a pin fire shotgun, it doesn't break open to load it, opens from left to right and has a hammer a 12gauge shell fits with little movement have found no markings on the gun but it has an engraving on a metal piece that is attached to the reciever it is just behind the hammer. The ingraving translates about the fort in the 1820's in france. the barrel is round untill it gets to the receiver and then turns to an octagon. the breech is spring loaded seems that it would be in good working order. If there is any more info. you specilized persons need let me know would like to know value of gun and history thanks.

We would need quality photos for help in value assessment and identification.
