Springfield takedown

I took in a Springfield commander sized 1911 with a full length guide rod that has a hex head in muzzle end. It appears that the guide rod is one piece. How do you remove the guide rod for takedown?

  Unscrew the guide rod it is 2 peice

  Use a proper size allen wrench and unscrew the outer part and take down like a normal 1911 [;)]
