    I shoot as-cast .379" for my .378" .38-55.
    I use 20:1 lead:tin for black powder but you could go harder for smokeless. Not pure lead.
    Standard weight is 255 grains for a repeater.

    just to note, the larger bullets MAY not fit in your chamber with normal (thicker)commecial brass, starline has some correctly dimensioned brass for these old rifles.

    Mike is right on with the SarLine brass, works great in my 1893 Marlin 38-55.
