That shell stop is a stamped part. I had a ton of problems with those on the 835's I sold. For some reason they can not keep the curvature consistant, and of course, after it is stamped it is work hardened, and tough to make right.

Best to get rid of the Mossy and get a real gun...like an 870.

Sounds like it has been through some serious trama. My guess is the recieve is bent or deformed on that side, and the elevator is not engaging the catridge stop anymore. The shell stop is the larger of the two items the small one is the interupter... Just so we have our terms right.

When the elevator travels full the shell should release...... Can you release the shell by pushing on the shell stop?

EDIT 1: If you removed the interupter and stop then the shell should of A stoped against the elevator or B come shooting right back out. Check the mag tube make sure it is straight and the follower is not getting caught up. When I tried this I could not chamber a shell it would simply fall out of the mag tube once I opened the action.

It is the cart. stop , not the interuptor (?) that was broke ? I can release the shell by hand (pushing in the cart.(shell) stop ?

to make it a little more confusing ? when I take out the trigger group and the shell (cart.) stop and interuptor out of the gun ? then put every thing back into place , all works well the FIRST TIME ONLY ??????
