Bushnell scope too tight

I just picked up a mossberg rifled slug barrel with a Bushnell 1.75x4 ER scope on it. Looks brand new. The girl selling it at the estate sale
didn't know anything about it. The scope is almost impossible to turn the magnification ring. Anyone know why this is so??? I loosened the mount rings to see if that was binding it but no change. Thanks, Bob

    grease has gotten hard. I have a REDFIELD that when I first got it was the same way. Mine got a lot better after I put a drop or two of Kroil on the power adjust ring.

    Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. Widow that was selling it said to me, " husband bought it and never used the barrel" Bob
