Smith & Wesson Revolver, Light Weight, M13
Also commonly known as the "Aircrewman." How rare are these guns, and how valuable? I just got two to sell on consignment. One is complete and working, and one has been demilled.

In general, M13s that have escaped the demil process are scarce and quite valuable. Caution, there are fakes made by remarking a commercial model 12. 0 -
Like Hawk said-TONS of fakes along with the Colt version. Should have aluminum frame & cylinder--steel cylinders were put on civillian versions after 1954.In 98% you might see $700 to $900 from the right buyer if it's a legit gun. The demilled one you might try the S&W forum as there are some serious collectors over there who might be more apt to want that.
Edit: The prices I quoted were from the Blue Book-which isn't always the best when it comes to real world pricing--they do say in it though the Baby Aircrewman(a 5 shot J frame version) can bring in as much as $5000. Of course with todays down market you might not get that much--but again the real deal and at maybe a S&W Collectors Assoc. show you could as some of those folks have no problem dropping $3K to $5K on Registered Magnums.0 -
The book, "Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson" has a extensive section on the Aircrewman Revolvers. It goes into great detail regarding them, and how to tell the difference between them and the standard commercial Model 12's. If you could get your hands on a copy of this book it will help you in the sale of the one you have.
The authors of SCSW note that a real mccoy M13 Aircrewman, in original excellent condition, could easily be in the $2000-$5000 range.0 -

I demilled some back in the 60,s when I was stationed in texas,I kept one and have a few orginal hostlers for them.tks hedge[:D] 0
