Burris "eliminator"laserscope

Anyone with hands on experience, reliability with this guy. I drew an Oregon sheep tag this year (once in a lifetime), and am upgrading to a 300 RUM Christensen graphite Bbl. Since the unit I will be hunting in is very open, with little cover, I'm preparing for some longer than usual shooting. This scope sounds good because it compensates for vertical angle as well as yardage. Thoughts please. No comments on the tag please. HAWKSHAW

    That Burris Eliminator has been a work in progress for the last 15 years. It is so new to the market, that it is still to reach some distributors shelves, so I doubt there is much real world experience with it. You are going with a light rifle, I wouldn't make it cumbersome with a heavy scope.

    That rifle shoots flat enough, and providing it will group well, you should be able to get to 600 yards with a good Mil-Dot reticle scope, without much of a problem...even further with the NightForce NP-R1 reticle. I do understand the angle correction factor you are talking about, but I would want to test that Eliminator before I took it and trusted it. Like the scopes that have reticles in like the Burris Ballistic Plex, Nikon BDC, Sightron HHR, and many others, the trajectory correction is based on the law of averages, of a certain group or class of cartridges, with similar performance. Only difference is, that the Elimanator does the correcting automatically, only after you enter the information into it of which class of cartridge you are going to be using. There also has to be provisions for sight heith, altitude, and a host of other things to be extremely accurate.

    I guess, seeing is believing, and I have not seen one yet, but am on the list to get one when they come in.
