Differance between .38 specials and other I.J.

[:)]I have 10 I.J. model 55's in all cal.[;)] and I have a few .38 specials. The GRIPS (plastic woodgrain)will NOT fit from ANY 55's to my .38 special's???? [:p] Are the .38 specials different so how??. [:(!]The grips almost fit BUT are at the wrong angle[xx(] and a little bit BIG[:0] for the .38 frame?? Every thing else (part wise) fits perfect!!![:D] HELP[?]

    i have not given this much thought but the grips for the 38 special will have an IJ at top and will be black plastic (of unknown type) not the brown Tentite ones. this is something i will check out on the ones in my collection.
