WIN 94, value?
Since I am an admitted non-expert on 94's, need a little help here. I would go to the auction except for the apparent age of this gun. Serial # 968881. Has a 20" barrel. LOP appears to be 13". I believe it's all original. It is a 30-30 Winchester. The gun obviously has been used with many dings and scratches in both stocks. I see no cracks or repairs. Gun seems to cycle fine and smoothly. Has original buttplate, I believe. Blueing is totally missing in most usual areas, showing some very minor pitting. Front sight hood is missing, if there ever was one. This gun will go on the auction as quick as you guys give me a number.

The barrel is not original to the rest of the gun. The serial number places the date of manufacture in June of 1924, but the barrel was not made any sooner than mid year 1932. The original barrel was NICKEL STEEL amd did not have a ramp style front sight. The barrel currently on the gun is PROOF STEEL, and it does not have the correct rear sight.
If you remove the magazine tube and forend stock, you can determine when the barrel was made by checking the 2-digit year number stamped on the bottom of the barrel (in the concave section just forward of the frame). If the caliber stamp is "30 W.C.F." it was made between 1932 - 1949. If it is marked "30-30 WIN.", it was made in 1950 or later.0 -

Having the barrel changed as Bert described, lanyard ring missing, incorrect sights, it is a shooter, not a collector. Most likely you are looking at a $500.00 tops. It will draw no serious fire from any collectors. Start it as low as you can, and let the market decide. If you dare, start it at 0.01, and get the bids rolling...run it for 10 days...you will be surprised.

I can not say what someone else might be willing to pay for it, but in my opinion, it is worth no more than $350.
I also just noticed that the magazine tube is apparently a cut-down Rifle mag tube. If you look closely at the third from the bottom picture that Spider posted, you can see the shadow (coloration difference) where a retaining ring once was.0 -
