Savage 220 shotgun

probably vintage 1970s. My father was a police officer. He died recently and I'd like to sell this item. How do I know how much it's worth? How would I find out what gauge it is and maybe other pertinent information? Is anyone interested in purchasing?

    Can anyone tell me if the barrels on a older Savage 220 single shot shotgun are interchangeable? Such as a 410 barrel on a 20 ga.?And vice versa? thanks in advance

    The barrels might interchange, but they won't shoot. The bolt face would be different.

    I've seen for sale on GB a Savage 220a in 20ga that also had a 30-30 barrel.

    Savage also made (way back when) barrel/chamber inserts to use 410 in 12 and 20 gauge shotguns - you may be able to find one of those, or use a modern adapter from mcace or similar.

    The 220 is in the same series as the 219,the shotgun barrels will fit the rifle which is the 219.I have found most of the barrels fit,the difference is the firing pin.there is no bolt its a break open singleshot.I have a 219 set with 410,28ga,22hornet 30-30 set.Also a engraved 30-30 16ga set.also have others as i collect them.tks hedge[:D]

    Also would note side lever barrels donot fit top lever models.tks hedge[:D]
