Merkel Shotgun's

knees

My Dad has given me 2 12 ga. Merkel Suhl shotguns (and o/u & sxs). I know nothing about them except that they are fine shotguns in excellent shape. What would be a 'ballpark' value for these so I can add them to my insurance? I can't seem to find a model number on either gun? Where are the model numbers located? This is all that I can find on them (besides their serial numbers, which are easily identified):
O/U: Merkel Suhl - 12 Special Laufstahl Weichlot
SxS: Merkel Suhl - 0454 - Spezial Gewehrlaufstahl

  Thanks. Do you know where the model numbers are? I've sent an email to Merkel requesting that information from the serial numbers but haven't heard back from them.

  I believe that your over under is a model 201es or et.

  The blue book puts a value on that gun at about $4500. I believe your SXS is a 247sl like the one here: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=172391792
  
  The blue book values it at $7700 at 100%.

  I know they need to be shot, but I'm almost too scared to take them to the field! I'll probably take the SxS to SD pheasant hunting this year...maybe? I'm mainly a duck hunter, so being hard on equipment is in my blood. [}:)]

  Those guns are built to be shot, make your dad proud and have fun with them.....and bring home some food!
