    7.92X57mm is indeed the same as 8mm.

    To get more technical, there are a variety of loadings. For MG use the most common is 7.92X57mm isS, or the heavy ball infantry spitzer loading. Though most iS will work too (light ball).

    Just remember if it is milsurp ammo it is corrosively primed and should be cleaned with a water based cleaner (hot soapy water is best, then dry, clean as normal).
