lube for stick mag?

Is there a recommended lubricant for stick mags that shells hang up in? It is a new mag so the spring is not likely to be the cause.
I also have a Steyr/Mannlicher that has a kind of rotary/stick mag in .223 that is inconsistent.
What's the fix?

  It very well could be the rifle that has the problem not the magazine do you have other magazines that work well in the what ever it is you have. Some .223 magazines do need the spring and follower changed. I would never put any lub in a magazine, dry and clean is the way I like them. Most of the magazines I have had trouble with had some of the finish hanging them up inside or burred up.
