Need to shop around. My insurance company (state farm) all I had to do was to buy a firearms clause. In any dollar amount of coverage you want. Very inexpensive and well worth it. Covers lose in theft or fire. 0 -
Do shop around. Most homeowners policies have a limit for firearms and accessories- but that can be raised by adding a rider. If you are an NRA member you have $1000 in coverage for free, and can add $100 increments for $1.66 a year. Collectinsure is another firm that insures collections. Safes are good- do not do much for flood, etc. 0 -
Take the time to look at Eastern Insurance
aka www.historicfirearms.com
It is a Chubb policy, and beats competition once you are past about $25000 in insured firearms.
You can search Gunbroker Forums for more...this topic comes up about every 3 months.0 -
pitjeep.....I, too, have state farm like 44shotdoctor and they are fine to work with. There are some requirements like making sure that you have a security system (which you should have anyway if you have things of value IMHO) but my agent was good with me valuing the guns as an "expert." Had to take photos, make a list and declare how much value for each. When I was in the market some companies would only insure up to $1k per gun...not so with SF. It works right into my Homeowners Policy. So I would check with them to see if that could work for you. Good luck! 0 -

Do you want to give your money to a company that seems to be anti-gun? 0
