What is the main difference between the IOM and the USG?

The USG (United States Government) replaced the IOM (Individual Officers Model). As mentioned above, they squared off the trigger guard and took the bump out of the middle of it. They also added a larger, reversible magazine catch.
There have been issues with the new catch wearing prematurely and causing mags to come unseated during shooting. I have heard newer USG's are being shipped with metal catches, but I haven't seen one.
IOM's were only black and USG's have several color variants.
If this were the GD section, and not the ATE section, I would add that the IOM looks a little fugly to me.[;)]0 -
