I would send it to one of several scope repair houses to have them do what you need done.

If you remove it you make loose the seal.....

    Just unscrew it.

    Cartod.
My strap wrenches slipped between the two sections in your photo so I feared B&L may have done some bonding on the 8A.
There appears to be four separable sections to the eyepiece housing assembly. Are any of these bonded or need special methods other than optical wrenches to further disassemble?
    Thanks

Bob, This is as far as I am comfortable taking it down. The sections I have numbered

    1. power adjustment ring. this is on there some other way that threaded, maybe an O-ring clip?.

    2. focus tube retainer ring...this one just unscrews and holds eyepiece in focus

    3. eyepiece. simply unscrews.

    4. there is a lens in this part of the tube that moves back and forth to adjust scope power when you twist the adjustment ring (1.).

Sorry but I know enough not to take it any further apart than this. hope this is some help. Todd
