TAURUS PISTOL PULL

I have model 101-11 40 cal ,triger is terrable,any sugestions on how to lighten/

    IN MY OPINION this is not a DIY project Double action pistols can be ruined by someone trying to modify parts. The only suggestion is to see if Brownells has a spring kit that fits your pistol . If they dont then you need to find a GOOD PISTOL-SMITH.

    My first suggestion would be to fire several hundred rounds through it before you do something that may render it useless.

    My suggestion, is to get rid of the Taurus all together, and get something more useful, like a scoop shovel to start with. A really nice 1911, or if you need the da/sa, then a S&W 3rd generation auto like a 4006.

    To be clear, the Taurus 101 is its clone of the Beretta 96:

    If possible, I'd suggest simply trading it in for another model gun with a better trigger.

    While you can probably get a gunsmith to improve the trigger for you, I have to question whether or not its really worth the investment of your time and money to do it, since doing this likely won't add anything to the resale value of the gun.

    Instead of messing with disassembling the gun and swapping out springs, or paying a gunsmith $75 (or whatever) to do the same, instead take that money, and put it towards a different gun.

    You can probably find an EAA/Tanfoglio Witness in 40SW for roughly the same price as your Taurus, and it ought to have a much better trigger.

    If you are willing to kick in $150 or so, you can upgrade to a Czech CZ-75 in 40SW, which is really a superior pistol.

    I've never had a stiff or heavy trigger pull on any Taurus revolver since they came out with 7 & 8 shot revolvers; some are so smooth that it's like stroking a cat! I don't own any Taurus semiautos, so maybe doing what the AMU did to lighten/crispen(?) the Beretta trigger will work. I've got the info in an older American Gunsmith or Performance Shooter magazine; email me if you want a copy.
