    Can't help you with the value of that gun, but I have to ask... Did that rifle come from a guy named Ray C.? His son used to own {maybe still does} the diner 500 yards to the right of your store. I was in his gun club back in NY and we hunted together. Ray C. senior had one just like that and a similar version in 45/70. Bob

    Hi MFI,

    That should bring between $800.00-1000.00+. It is in close to 90% condition if not a touch more. If that was an 1886 in 45-70, double that.

    I should think it would be worth more in original condition , instead of being rechambered to .348 Win. Mag. Must be a wildcat that I've never heard of !

    I see similar condition Model 71 Sporting Rifles sell for $1100 - $1400 at the Reno show. If it were mine, I would not let it go for less than $1200.

    Well I see someone corrected their auction description ! I know there isn't any .348 Mag !

    I think Bert once again hit the nailed square on the head. 71's have a pretty good following and I wouldn't take less than 1200 for that either. Good luck.
