are the tigre carbines marked 44L chambered to shoot 44-40 wcf?

  all that i have seen were .44-40. when in doubt do a chamber cast. it is very easy to do.

  If the 44-40 fits, it can't be anything else.
  I had one in 44-40; beautiful on the outside but homemade springs, screws and machine work on the inside.
  The bore was beautiful but it didn't shoot factory ammo worth a hoot.
  I got rid of it ASAP.
  Maybe properly sized lead bullets would work better.
