Building a Short Action cartridge on a Long Action
Hey Guys
I have searched through all of the posts on short actions and long actions, and I didn't see a related thread. Could be wrong.
I happen to have a 700 long action from a 30-06 that I was wanting to develop a project for. I have the BDL removable mag setup for it as well. I have not decided on any caliber, but was wondering if the Long Action limited you as far as what cartriges you could use with it.

other may think otherwise but You can always use a shorter cartridge You may need to modify the feed lips on the action. you better check to see if the detachable magazine comes in a cartridge close to your project. 0 -

My favorite long range rifle is a LA Rem 700, throated Bartlein barrel and in 7mm WSM.
I can seat the 190 gr bullets to the base of the neck with the long action and throat.

I have been thinking about anything that might be possible I guess from a 22BR and 22-250 to the WSMs. I've looked at the 270 WSM, 7mm WSM, and 300 WSM.0 -
