yugo M48 bolt help

Can you substitute a yugo 24/47 bolt with the turned down handle for an M48 bolt?

    I believe that Mike is right.

    Parts on the 24/47 and M48 will interchange, but if you start swapping out bolts you should have the headspace on the rifle checked for safety.

    Note that usually Yugo 24/47s have straight bolts and the M48s have bent ones.

    Also, depending on what exactly you are trying to accomplish here, before you go and do this, you might want to look into having the bolt on your current gun bent down.

    This might be more cost-effective than buying an entire new bolt assembly.

    24/47s don't really have any collectors value, so I don't think you'd be "destroying" the gun if you did this. Also presumably the reason you'd be doing it is because you want a conventional scope mount, and if you're drilling/tapping the gun to get one, you're already altering it.

    well what I am trying to do is put a whole M48 together. I have a barreled reciever coming without the bolt and Im finding that M48 bolts are scarse these days. The only complete bolt I have is for a K98. If anyone knows where I can get an M48 bolt Id be very happy. Ive checked all the ussual places and they sold out.
