Any problem closing bolt with hand chambered rounds?

    Yes, there should be a lot of problems. The 70 Classic, is like the Pre-64, with the Mauser type claw extractor. It is meant for two things. More positive extraction, and controlled round feeding. The controlled feeding is where the round when popping up out of the magazine, upon closing the bolt, deposits the rim of the case between the bolt head, and the extractor. This eliminates any rounds from falling out on the ground in a life or death situation.

    Having this type of extractor, the rounds are meant to be picked up from the magazine, not single fed into the chamber. In doing so with the dropping the round into the chamber and closing the bolt, the extractor has to jump the rim of the case. In doing so, you can crack, weaken, or break your extractor.

    There are a few more threads on here about this very subject, and not from to long ago. There is a link in one of them with the mfg. directions, describing single loading as loading a single round into the magazine, then picking it up with the bolt. Not by dropping it into the chamber.

    no, these are designed to closed on single rounds. mausers, while similar are designed to feed from the magazine or when single loaded with a 'pinch' of the extractor. mausers can be easyly modified to 'single load'.

    It does say that extra resistance will be noticed, and does not specifically say NOT TO DO IT, but then gives the proper method of loading a single round.
