P38 value
I acquired a P38 a few months ago. It is a BYF 44, SN 73XX. I don't have the ability to post a photo, but I believe I can describe it accurately enough for a "ball park" estimate. I've been collecting for over 50 years and would rate this in 95+ condition. No wear on the finish, matching serial numbers throughout. It's the nicest P38 I've ever had.
The serial number falls in the Police issue range. and apparently commands a premium.
Any help appeciated.

In the condition you describe I'd say $700-$800. If it is an actual police pistol and has the correct commercial acceptance stamp along with the proper civilian (police) acceptance stamp it could be worth three times that amount. What do the stamps read? 0 -
blacarrow......as Mark has told you, you need to give us some more information. For collector interest, we need to know what the acceptance stamps say...for example, if police it should be marked commerically (E/N) with correct police markings (E/L; E/C etc). If military, it should be marked (for BYF 44 E/135 or E/WaA135). So, again, what is yours marked? As Mark has said, if yours is a marked police P38 it sells at a premium, especially in the condition that you describe. Do you have correct mags? How many? Marked? Holster? If so, how marked? All affect value. 0
