S&W model 29 DOM
Hi I am looking at a SW model 29 in a presentation box, with apamphlet, a cleaning rod, brush and screwdriver. The boxand gun is in great condition, with some handling marks and some cylinder marks, but no wear to speak of other than that. , the grips have a diamond in the middle. the serial number is S2173XX. When was this gun made, and what kind of value would go with it? thanks

it also measures to be a six and a half inch barrel. are these rarer than the six inch? thanks 0 -
The premium is for the 5" bbl. 0 -
I don't recall when they switched, but M29's were originally manufactured with 6.5 in barrels and later S&W shortened them to an even 6 inches. 0 -
