Bullet seating depth?
I am loading some 45acp cast bullets and having trouble with them feeding. However seating them deeper they feed ok. I'm talking alot shorter oal. So my question is seating bullets deeper does this require a change in the powder charge.

I would think ,that any practice
that significantly reduces the free volume
in a case should set off a red flag.

If you are loading to max, YES [B)]
Try matching OAL to factory loads.
About 1.240-1.250.0 -
maybe try belling your cases a little more. If that doesn't work, then yes you will have to go deeper and drop the powder. 0 -
Hello I have loaded 100, of thousands of lead bullets in 45ACP I currently load with a 200 grain H&G type semi wadcutter. My loads have an OAL of 1.240 and the case mouth is TAPER CRIMPED to .469. DO NOT repeat DO NOT roll crimp 45acp .. Please read my STICKY at the top of this forum ."THOUGHTS ON CRIMPING semi auto pistol ammo"
' You should remove the barrel from your pistol and match your loads OAL to the chamber of YOUR barrel.0
