I looked at the auctions and there is a model 603 .22 magnum listed that looks like the gun I'm asking about. The one I found is .22 long rifle.

    4406v,

I can tell you that, I believe, the keylock was an optional feature. ...but, I am not certain of the years it was offered. The 9-shot that you are looking at may be an "ULTRA SIDE-KICK", otherwise known as a "Model 939". Here is one with a push-through-the-hammer cylinder release (in addition to the normal pull-pin release):

...though, you could be looking at another model.[;)]

    Good luck with your quest!

    It is a model 939,
The key lock feature was offered in 1962, and discontinued in 1972.
    Value,
    100% = 295
    98% = 260
    95% = 220
    90% = 180
    80% = 155

Info and values from the 29th edition of Blue Book of Gun values
List or email me the 2 letter prefix of the serial #, and I will tell you year of manufacture.
Great revolvers, grab it if it's reasonable.

I may have beat Bill to the keyboard, but, what you all should know, is that he is the author of the H&R section of the Blue Book of gun values!
I just pass along his information.

    p.s. that's a great price!

Don't let it get away for $ 100!

Just to set the record straight: The keylock on the 939 was first offered in 1959. I have a piece with original serial number starting with 'U'(1958) that was retrofitted with the keylock and a 'V' prefix (1959) was then hand stamped before the original serial # on the butt.

Between Bill's research, and 32 Magnum's physical proof, you are bound to come up with the right answer.
    THE 2 experts, IMO!
