sure I'm beating a dead horse (SKS Problems)

I have a Yugo SKS, been having trouble getting it to cycle. I put the old magazine back on works better (doesn't jam) but still wont cycle. I've heard people saying something about wolf ammo being junk. what would be the better alt. any help would be great thanks

    the gas valve is new. i noticed the lever behind the gas valve pops up with every shot

    If you are talking about the lever that lockes the gas cylinder into the receiver you may not have the cylinder far enough down into position to completely lock it into place. I would think you could be blocking the gas piston from reaching the rod that pushes the bolt back or loosing gas. If you move the lever up and down with out other part in postion you can see at what point to start the cylinder into postion and when you get it inn right you can tell the lever goes down easy and all the way with out forcing.

    Go to surplusrifle.com. Pull up SKS and try the trick with the paper clip.I used stainless wire instead of the paper clip.It fixed mine.

    instead of wolf, for slnits (the "ln" represents an h)& giggles, buy a box of remington, winchester, or another brand of 7.62X39 and see if it runs. have yet to have any of my 1/2 doz fail to run. hope you find the problem soon!
