Note that if you mean a HANDGUN, there actually *IS* a pistol version of the .45ACP Thompson "Tommy" gun available (though IMO, like most of these things its more gimmicky than practical):
If you mean a more conventional pistol, if you want to go crazy you can stick a 40 round drum magazine into an ordinary single stack 1911 pistol:

There are other extended-type magazines available for 1911s, though they all stick out past the base of the gun, and you start to decrease reliability the higher the capacity.
Here's a straight 15 rounder that can turn "any" 1911 into a "high cap". This one is made by Promag, though at least one other maker puts them out:
Double-stack 1911-type pistols are readily available (eg from Para-Ordinance, STI, and others) that are more or less normal in size, and hold 14+1 rounds. They do have sort of fat "baseball-bat" like grips, though:
If you mean a conventional gun with a conventional mag, the Smith MP45 holds 14+1 and so does the FN FNP .45.
HK .45 and Glock 30 in .45 each hold 13+1.
Supposedly, the Kriss (.45ACP submachine gun) runs on modified Glock 30 mags that hold 30 rounds and are reliable.
IMO the long sticks and drum mags make most sense in submachine guns where you are firing in full-auto or burst fire.
Apart from novelty value, they don't make a lot of sense in handguns (which are primarily intended for concealability and portability), though some people do use them for IPSC type shooting to reduce (eliminate) reload time.0 -
Just like Nwcid said, the Thompson SMG. Also the Uzi in .45 can take sticks or drums. Come to think of it, there are tons of SMG/carbines that can take sticks/drums. In the pistol catagory there is the Para Ordnance P14-45 series that has a 14+1 capacity. I believe the Springfield XD Hi-cap series is 13+1. FWIW[;)] 0 -

Just remember if you plan on carrying a 45 hi-cap, that 45acp ammo gets very heavy, especially if you carry an extra mag. 0 -
