What is it?

CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO POST A PICTURE? PLEASE? Without the picture, my request for info is kind of useless....

OK, I saw this at a garage sale the other day. WTH? I looks to be a palm gun of sorts....? The end screws off and it looks like you insert a single round in it, possibly a .32? Then with the black knob in your palm, you compress it and it would appear to fire at that point. I advised the guy to put it away, and let me find out what I can about it. So how about it? Does anyone have a clue? Is it legal? Should I forget that I saw it? Should I buy it?

    i am seeking information on a break open, single shot 12 gauge. it says "victor plain" "american gun co. new york" on its right side and "genuine armory steel" on the top of the barrel. any knowledge anyone could provide would be much appreciated. thankyou!

    There is a sticky near the top of the first page of this forum that explains how to post photos.

    There have been several "palm" revolvers manufactured; the most collectible is marked "Chicago Fire Arm Co".

    GOOGLE, "Palm Pistol" photos and data of a recently available .38 version show up. It appears similar to one you describe.

    I always though that these were prevented from being sold by the feds without a AOW license. Maybe not?

    If it fires ball ammo, it is likely an AOW, regulated under the National Firearms Act. There were also tear gas guns similar to your description. Also a veterinarian's tool called a Humane Killer, used to put down horses and cattle- used a blank cartridge.

    First of all, a "palm" gun firing ordinary metallic cartridges is likely an NFA regulated weapon, meaning that its illegal without the appropriate FEDERAL paperwork.

    It may also be regulated by State law.

    So there is a fairly good chance that the gun as-is, is illegal to possess. . .watch out.

    If its a BLACK POWDER gun, it MAY fall into a different category.

    In terms of posting pictures, there is a "sticky" that shows how to do it at the top of this page.

    Basically you need to upload your image to a public image hosting site (eg Photobucket), then create a "link" to the URL of the image you uploaded in your post by enclosing it in "img" tags, as so:

    [ img ] http://your.image.link.here. [ /img ]

    Get rid of the spaces inside the IMG brackets below and THIS

    [ img ]http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b240/earthtone55/DSCN0614.jpg?t=1278434322[ /img ]

    turns into THIS, when you hit the post button!

    It looks like a old timer. Probably low production or even a one off basement job.

    I wouldn't be buying it unless you can establish it legality vis a vis the federal laws regulating what are called AOW firearms. Don't be taking anybodys word that it's legal. Over the years I seen to many licensed dealers selling questionable sketchy guns because they thought they were legal.

    That looks like a homemade "zip" gun. I highly doubt it's been registered and highly suspect it could earn you 10 years in "Club Fed".

    I didn't buy it, just very curious about it. I don't think it is homemade, it does have on it "PA-5" and the Patent Date '05 on it. No maker or anyhing else that I can see. I have looked up "Palm Gun" on multiple search engines to no avail. I was hoping that someone had seen one of these before.......

    Are the pre 1899 'palm pistols' regarded as a non-gun (ATF defined antique), or does ATF say "Boy, That thar is an AOW!!"

    Maybe an animal killer, used by vets and farmers? Small one, for sheep, etc?
