Enforcer: Universal, gold?
Picked up a Universal Enforcer over the weekend with a gold finish on it. Gun is probably a 75-80% gun, any info on how rare the gold ones are is appreciated, also how to tell if it is an original gold one. I'll try to get pics up too. How much more(or less) is a gold one worth than a blued, nickle or stainless one in like condition. I bought it on impulse and already am thinking maybe I screwed up...
Forgot to add; what parts should be gold for this pistol to be correct? The receiver and trigger housing are gold as is the trigger and front barrel band. The barrel, sights, bolt and charge handle are all blued. Based on the condition of the screws I am certain this has been disassembled by a less than competent person.
Thanks in advance.

The gold plated Enforces retailed for $216.50 back in the late 1970s when I first got into the gun business. I don't know how many were made exactly (and I doubt that anyone really knows) but Universal was only ordering 1000 Enforcer stocks from Overton each year (their stock supplier) and of those about 1000 Enforcer stocks, 300 were "Presentation stocks" for use with the nickel and gold plated Enforcer pistols. Gold plated Enforcers produced prior to 1983 when Iver Johnson took over production, came with a gold plated 30 round magazine and a plaque for engraving the owners name on the right side of the stock, just above the pistol grip. At the old shop we used to keep one of those gold plated Enforcers in a glass display case with other pistols and every once in a while someone would come in and buy it. The old man (Sam) wold chuckle and then tell Hal (the manager) to buy another (just one, never more than that) gold plated Enforcer.
