Colt Frontier Scout cylinder removal

I just acquired a Colt Frontier Scout .22 Magnum. The gun was fired with .22lr and I would like to know how to remove the cylinder to give it a good cleaning.

    Unload the revolver.

    Pull the hammer back to half cock.

    Push in & hold the spring loaded piece in the frame (just in front of the cylinder), & pull out the cylinder rod.

    Thanks for the instructions. Sadly they did not work, as there is no spring loaded pin. My Colt was made in 1959, and I finally found instructions that said to remove the base pin screw, which was a little hard, since I doubt it had been removed in the last 40 years. I also discovered Numrich has replacement pins, which are spring loaded,so the screw will not have to be removed to remove the cylinder.

    You can't replace that screw with a cross pin as the frame is not made for it. You have what is referred to as a "blackpowder frame" and the screw is the only way to remove the cylinder.

    I have removed the cylinder pin screw but the pin will not slide out to remove the cylinder. Am I missing something? How do I remove the cylinder pin?

    put a drop of kroil on the base pin screw from the right hand side and let it sit over night then select the screw driver that fits the screw perfectly and puy the twist to it, you might need someone to help, go easy, you'll get it out

    Thanks, but as I said I got the screw out. That was never the issue. The pin won't slide out when I grab the end and pull so I can't get the cylinder out.

    It turned out that the pin had a tight fit. I got it out safely.
