Ruger P-95 9MM

Dairyland man
Have a chance to pick up a Ruger P-95 9MM for a good price.

I would appreciate any and all comments from folks who have owned/shot this gun and their Likes and Dislikes.

    Do a "search" on link at top of the page. Serval listings on the 95.

    good gun for the money and it always goes bang, been hammering mine for 13 years. only problem other than periodic dud ammo was an aftermarket magazine that made the takedown pin drift out. got rid of that mag and the problem went with it.

    I've owned once since 1997 and it has never had a FTF, FTE, etc in over 3000 rounds. What is the good price you are being offered. They are good guns but I don't think I would pay more than $225 for one and that if it was in really good condition since you can buy blued ones all day long brand new for $300 + tax.

    I have a P 95 and it is a fine pistol .... have had no problems at all. Shoots great !

    Once again it pays to "Check with the Boys" about anything Gun Related.

    I have an HK P-9 9mm so I'm familar with the ammo. Just wasn't too sure about a Ruger Auto.

    Now that I've also checked Ruger prices on GB, I see this seller is asking Too much for a 2nd or 3rd time around used Gun.

    I'll look for a good one at the " Right" price on GB.

    Ruger centerfire autos are generally overlooked, but they're perfectly good guns.

    Plusses:
    -Highly reliable. This gun was designed to and will run ANY 9mm luger ammo well.
    -Strong as a brick.

    Downsides:
    -Trigger isn't great (though its not terrible).
    -Looks like a brick (IMO they're less ugly than Glocks!).

    Plus/Minus (depending on your point of view):
    -Traditional decocker DA/SA action
    -Low resale value (but means used ones are usually inexpensive).
    -Full sized gun (ie probably too bulky for concealed carry).


    I think $250 is probably a more realistic used price for one of these in excellent shape. If you can find one for $200, that's a no-brainer if you are interested in a "beater" 9mm luger pistol.
