Need Help - Charles Daly SXS 10ga
I just purchased a Charles Daly 10 gauge side-by-side shotgun, and need help identifying it and finding some parts. The shotgun has hammer-struck firing pins, and the only writing on it is on the top of the barrels - "Charles Daly Fine Damascus Barrels" and the serial number, 225X. I am missing the forearm and the hammers, so if anyone knows where I could find parts or a parts gun, it would be most appreciated. Thanks.

If it doesn't have any proof marks it's a Prussian Daly made before 1891. This was the year that the Germans passed the law requiring proofs.
Most likely it will be very hard to come up with the parts your seeking for a 120? year old shotgun. You might have to have them custom made?0 -

Write a note to Ken Georgi at kkgeorgi@mac.com. Ken has the data-base on these older Dalys and he could use the info. He might be the one that could find parts as well.
If the bores are in good condition there is no reason why it could not be shot with the appropriate loads. I've owned several damascus Prussian-Dalys and shot them all.0
