Putting iron sights on 10/22 Bull bbl
Anyone ever seen this done? I'm sure there are gunsmiths out there that could accomplish this but I'm not sure where to even start looking. I want to do this to two of my Ruger 10/22s (one with steel bbl and one with carbon fiber). If anyone knows someone that can do this I'd appreciate some contact info.
Thanks

Cabelas and Midway carry a rear sight that bolts into the scope mounting holes, but not sure about a front sight. 0 -
The 10/22 barrel is .920 diameter, I think. my bet is you can get a clamp on type used in hi power shooting and a weaver base with a Lipski rear mount and put a Lyman MJT on it - no gunsmithing needed.

Nodak and a few others (tech sights, etc) make a clamp on or set screw style band for a front sight. 0 -
Easy as pie:

Thank you all! The tech sights are probably what I'll end up with but I was really hoping for something that could be attached at the same time as a scope (such as dove-tailing the barrel for rear/front) so I could quick release scope and fall back to irons in the blink of an eye. 0 -
Look into XS sights. They have a 10/22 mount that has a ghost ring on the back of it, and a Nodak Spud front sight that is a band that attaches to the bull barrel. 0 -
No reason not to put iron sights on the steel barrel but I don't know of a reliable way to mount them on the carbon fibre. 0
