I believe I would be happier.

    Status quo today:
Cities and States make gun laws that restrict and ban guns as they see fit.

    After McDonald:
Cities and States make gun laws that restrict and ban guns as they see fit.

Net result? Nothing, but a huge number of gun rights supporters are pacified and now believe that their guns is safe.

Remember, ikeda, had the decision gone the other way, there would have been no requirement for your State or your City to implement restrictions. This decision granted your State and your City the Constitutional power to do so if and when they want.

IMO, there is little to no difference in this decision or one that came down against McDonald. Incorporating through Due Process empowers the State and local government in much the same way.

Again, it is extremely important to point out that CATO and the 2nd Amendment Foundation were, through Gura, pursuing this through Privileges and Immunities. That approach was shot down by Alito with the full support and backing of the NRA. That approach would have been a success for 2nd Amendment rights. This one was a big loss.

I agree with HB on this one. The court said NOTHING about Bearing Arms. Only keeping them. And Chigago has already passed a restriction that will not allow to take your gun out of your house. Even if your still on your property. They see it your busted. Even though that is a violation of not only the 2nd, but the 4th as well. Possibly more. This going to lead to some very bad things.

Not to get off topic but,,,, Anybody plan to list thier guns on the new tax form next year?? Not this guy. [:(!]
