Learned a valuable lesson re plated bullets
Been using Berry's bullets for a long time with excellent results. Saw some Rainier plated bullets on sale and bought 500 to try them out. For some reason, I increased the amount of crimp in my taper crimp die and made up 50 rounds. Took them out to the range and at 15 yards, I had about a 20" group! Damn! I went back to the bench, made up 25 more but decreased the amount of crimp to the way the die was set before, and my group went back to normal. I was talking to a friend out at the range and he had heard that with plated bullets, too much crimp will definitely hurt accuracy. He was right!

Treat the plated bullets the same as plain lead [;)]
The plating is very thin.0
